Robotic vacuums like Roombas are awesome tools no doubt. However, there are lots of different options to choose from. This can buying the right one a difficult choice. Well, we want to help, which is why we are here today doing a Roomba 770 vs 860 comparison. Let’s figure out which one is right for you.
The Roomba 770 is a fairly new model, not the newest, but it still has some pretty cool and advanced features that you might really like. This particular model is well made and has a great 3 stage cleaning process that is shown to do a great job at picking up various kinds of debris. The brushes and suction technology it comes with is ideal for all kinds of floors including hardwood and carpet too. The agitator brushes do a great job at getting dirt out of carpets. For hardwood, it acts like a brush and dustpan, picking up debris instead of just spitting it around.
The Roomba 770 does a good job at picking up dirt, pet hair, and all kinds of other debris thanks to its really strong motor and suction technology. One really neat part about the Roomba 770 is that it comes complete with dual HEPA filters. We really like these because they help to purify the air which the vacuum spits out. It is a great option for anyone who has allergies and needs to breathe really clean air.
Another cool part here is that you can set the Roomba 770 to clean up to 7 times per week on its own, plus it also comes with 3 different cleaning patterns and modes for you convenience. The sensors which this model comes with are pretty good too. They do a fairly good job at avoiding obstacles and drops. It even has a full bin indicator to let you know when it is full. It’s also neat because it will go back to the charging station automatically once the battery is low.

The Roomba 860 in all reality is a more advanced version of the Roomba 770. It does come with a couple of drawbacks, but overall, it is probably the better option to go with. Just like the 770, the Roomba 860 comes with Aeroforce 3 stage cleaning, but the motor on this model has been upgraded, so it does have advanced suction capabilities.
The cleaning function of this model is quite the same, as it does come with the same set of sensors as the 770, albeit they are a little upgraded. The Roomba 860 also comes with several different cleaning patterns, just like the 770, but once again, the technology has been upgraded to be more efficient in its cleaning.
Moreover, the Roomba 860 comes with 2 virtual wall barriers which the 770 does not include. Both of these models pick up debris very well, but when it comes to pet hair, the 860 is a little better thanks to its tangle-free extractors. Furthermore, both models have automatic docking and recharging, but the Roomba 860 has slightly better battery life than the Roomba 770.
However, the Roomba 860 does not come with dual HEPA filters like the 770 does. It does feature an air filtration system, but it is not as good as the 770’s dual HEPA filters. Other than that, both models are more or less the same. Some people do like how the 860 has a larger dust bin than the 770, but it is still fairly limited in size.

When it comes to the Roomba 770 vs 860 debate, in our opinion, the 860 does make for the better choice. It has some advanced technology that makes it a more efficient vacuum.
