bOsweep Reviews

Here we have 2 different bObsweep robotic vacuums that you can take a look at, both of which are pretty cool in their own way.

bObsweep PetHair Robotic Vacuum Cleaner and Mop

If you need a great robotic vacuum that is specially designed for dealing with the messes that your pets make, you are looking in the right place.

Features

One of the things that has come in very handy for us is that the bObsweep PetHair Robotic Vacuum performs all kinds of cleaning.

First off, it uses rotating brushes and dust squeegees to sweep the floor of all kinds of hair and dust

Second, a really strong motor then vacuums the floor. In fact, the motor moves at 7,500 rotations per minute, making it one of the most powerful ones around. It has more than enough suction power to remove all kinds of hair and dirt, even from very thick carpets.

Next, the bObsweep PetHair Robotic Vacuum also mops our floor using a microfiber pad. This is great for our hardwood and tile floors because they have a nice polished look afterwards. What is also pretty neat is that this particular robotic vacuum also has a UV sterilizer which helps to kill bacteria and viruses on the ground.

Furthermore, with the bObsweep PetHair Robotic Vacuum, you also get an awesome HEPA filter. This filter cleans the air which the vacuum sucks in and removes all kinds of small particles, pollens, and allergens from the air. When it comes to cleaning, the bObsweep PetHair Robotic Vacuum is one of the most comprehensive robotic vacuums we have seen to date. It does also have side brushes to deal with corners and walls.

One of the main purposes of the bObsweep PetHair Robotic Vacuum is to deal with pet hair and paw prints on the ground. It uses special sensors to find and eliminate these things on our floor. The dirt sensors are great, but we also like how the bObsweep PetHair Robotic Vacuum can be set to 3 different cleaning patterns to clean every room in our house. Moreover, it also comes with a remote control so that we can change modes and control every movement if necessary.

This bad boy has an OK battery life, and once the battery is empty, it will go back to its dock to recharge all on its own. The full 1 liter dust bin that the bObsweep PetHair Robotic Vacuum is also quite impressive.

bObi Classic Robotic Vacuum Cleaner

Another good all-around option to go with, the bObi Classic Robotic Vacuum seems to do a fantastic job at cleaning up messes of all kinds.

Features

Just like the previous bObsweep robot vacuum we looked at, this one has the ability to clean in 5 different ways, which is great for a messy home like ours.

The bObi Classic Robotic Vacuum has the ability to sweep your floor with a combination of brushes and squeegees, which is great for hard surfaces.

At the same time, it has a microfiber cloth that you need to wet, which works to mop your floor and get rid of dust and prints on the ground.

It also comes with a fairly strong vacuum that has more than enough power to get dirt out from deep in carpets. The bObi Classic Robotic Vacuum also comes with side brushes to get along edges and corners too. We like the fact that this vacuum has the ability to clean all types of floors with ease. Moreover, the fact that the bObi Classic Robotic Vacuum comes with a UV sterilizer as well as a HEPA filter is pretty neat too. Ridding our floor and air of allergens and fine particles is something we really like.

The bObi Classic Robotic Vacuum does have cliff and obstacle sensors so it doesn’t ram into everything and fall off of drops. Moreover, it does have specialized dirt sensors which have the ability to detect areas that need lots of cleaning. This robot vacuum does have a waffle mode to focus on small spots, but it can also be set to free roam and just clean whole rooms. What we do like as well is the fully submergible dust container. This makes it really easy for us to clean.

The bObi Classic Robotic Vacuum also comes with touchscreen buttons so we can control it with ease. The battery life is about 75 minutes, and when it gets under 10 minutes, it will go to the dock and recharge itself.

What we didn't like:

  • No real cleaning patterns besides waffle mode – takes long to clean
  • Low battery life - will probably not be able to clean a whole home before dying
  • Does not do well with pet hair
  • Mopping pad needs to be wet manually

Roomba Reviews

Now that we have looked at the bObsweep robotic vacuums, let’s take a look at a couple of leading models from Roomba.

iRobot Roomba 880 Robot Vacuum

This is a very smart vacuum choice to go with, and by smart we are talking in terms of the navigation abilities it has. It does a good job at cleaning, but the navigation is where it really stands out.

Features

One of our very favorite features of the Roomba 880 is that it is very smart in terms of its navigation. What we are talking about here are the included virtual lighthouse beacons.

You can set these beacons up in 3 different rooms and the Roomba 880 will then continue cleaning all 3 of those rooms until they are totally clean. This is much more efficient than many other models out there.

Moreover, the Roomba 880 uses special navigation sensors to maneuver around our cluttered house. It does a good job at getting around and under obstacles, avoiding stairs, and avoiding drop offs. It knows how to spot high traffic and dirty areas for cleaning. In other words navigating our home and cleaning everywhere it can get is something that the Roomba 880 does very well.

The Roomba 880 has a good cleaning system too, one that we do like quite a bit. It features a 3 stage cleaning system that consists of suction, brushing, and agitation. It does a good job at sucking up dirt and debris on hard flooring, plus it is excellent for carpets too. The high degree of agitation and the powerful suction are perfect for getting deep into our thick and dirty carpets. Really strong suction is something which the Roomba 880 does extremely well. The Roomba 880 also comes with a set of side brushes to get into the crevices where the floors and walls connect.

Something else that stands out about this model is that it has a great battery life. The Roomba 880 can last for around 2.5 hours with no problem. Also, when the power starts to get low, it will go back to its charging dock to recharge itself. What we can’t forget are the tangle free extractors.

In other words, the Roomba 880 can suck up hair and not get tangled, something which other vacuums seem to have a problem with. Also, this model includes a high efficiency Aero-force filter, which is kind of like a HEPA filter to keep the air clean.

PROS

What we like:

  • Great navigation system
  • Included lighthouse beacons
  • Awesome battery life – will recharge itself
  • Great for hard and soft flooring
  • Very good agitation for carpets
  • Great suction power
  • Includes air filtration
  • Tangle free – great for hair
  • Spinning side brush included
  • Choose which rooms to clean

CONS

What we didn't like:

  • Does not mop floor
  • No UV sterilization
  • Dirt canister is fairly small
  • Does not have any specific cleaning patterns

iRobot Roomba 650

When it comes to navigation and cleaning power, the Roomba 650 is another good choice to consider.

Features

Just like with the other Roomba model, the 650 uses a multitude of very advanced sensors to navigate around your home. It does a great job at maneuvering obstacles and cluttered homes like ours.

It also does a nice job at getting under furniture too. It comes with a virtual wall barrier so you can keep it cleaning one single room until that room is clean.

The heavy dirt detection system is really convenient for locating very dirty areas and giving them a couple of passes to make sure they are clean. The suction power itself on this model is quite strong as well, more than good enough for most kinds of debris, but it does not fare too well with hair. The Roomba 650 does have side sweepers to make sure that walls along the floor are clean as well.

We do like the great 3 stage cleaning system that the Roomba 650 has. This cleaning system agitates the dirt in carpets, lifts the dirt up, and sucks it in. This is great for carpets, especially thanks to the dual brush system. It does a fine job at getting debris of all kinds.

The Roomba 650 also has the ability to automatically adapt to all kinds of different floors. Another thing which we really appreciate about the Roomba 650 is that it has a full 2.5 hour battery life, plus when the battery is low, it will go back to the dock all on its own to recharge.

PROS

What we like:

  • Strong suction power
  • Powerful 3 stage cleaning for carpets
  • Works ok for hard surfaces as well
  • Virtual wall barrier combined with sensors for awesome navigation
  • Really good battery life – automatic recharging
  • Automatically adjust to various types of floors
  • Automatically detects dirt
  • Multi-surface brushes with edge sweeper included
  • Compact and able to fit under furniture
  • Can be scheduled

CONS

What we didn't like:

  • Dust bin is fairly small
  • Does not have any good cleaning patterns to follow
  • No air filtration or UV sterilization
  • Does not fare well with hair
